You must set it into the basecoat layer to provide crack resistance and reinforcement. This EIFS mesh keeps the system resilient and protects it from moisture and mold infiltration. The exterior finish will also be alkali-resistant when applied with other EIFS wall components, minimizing the risk of cracks forming.
