  • Establish the layout prior to application to minimize waste and maximize coverage

Self-Adhering House Wrap – FAQs

Is house wrap a vapor barrier?

House wrap is a weather-resistive barrier that can be used for air filtration and moisture protection. However, it is not designed to be used as a primary weather barrier.

Is house wrap necessary?

House wrap is typically considered a necessity. While it is not legally required in every region, using house wrap is a best practice in construction that can lead to long-term benefits for the structure.

Do you tape the bottom of house wrap?

Yes, it is recommended to tape the bottom of house wrap. Taping the bottom with house wrap tape helps create a weather-tight seal, preventing moisture and air infiltration. However, it is not needed for self-adhering house wrap like the Grip-Rite® ProWrap-SA.
